Stamped concrete patios, walks and pads, poured on the same compacted base as everything we do, then patterned and sealed.

Stamped concrete is ordinary flatwork with a pattern pressed into the surface while it is still workable. It gives a patio or a walk the look of stone or brick in one solid pour, with no pieces to shift or weeds growing up between them. Stamped concrete is on our business card right next to patios, sidewalks and driveways.
The pattern only lasts if the slab under it holds. A stamped patio gets the same dug-out, compacted gravel base, the same reinforcement and the same control joints as a plain one. The joints get placed to follow the pattern where we can, so they blend in instead of cutting across the design.
Stamped surfaces are sealed when the work is done, and a fresh coat of sealer every few years keeps the color and the surface looking right through Michigan winters. Like any new outdoor concrete, keep deicing salt off it the first winter. Tell us where it is going and roughly how big, and we will talk through patterns and what fits the space.
Sealer can make a smooth surface slick when wet. Textured patterns help, and a grip additive can go in the sealer for walks and pool areas. Ask us about it when we talk patterns.
Every few years, depending on sun, traffic and salt. A fresh coat keeps the surface protected and the color from fading.
Yes. A stamped border around a plain broom-finished center is a common way to do it, and it works on walks and driveways too.
All concrete can develop hairline cracks over time, but a properly compacted base, steel reinforcement, and correctly placed control joints keep them to a minimum. We take the groundwork seriously so your concrete holds up for the long haul.
Yes. We coat the outside of the walls and lay drain tile around the footings before backfill, so water gets carried away instead of sitting against your basement.

Yes. Cabin foundations and storage shed pads are regular jobs for us, along with garage and pole barn slabs. Send the size, like 12x16 or 24x30, and we will take a look.
Usually, if it ties into a public road. In Michigan the agency that owns the road issues the driveway permit: the county road commission for county roads, the city or village for its own streets, and MDOT for state highways. We will help you figure out which one is yours.
